One rider, two cities.

Motor Cities Cycling Tours is a free resource for anyone who wants to ride between Windsor and Detroit, made by Ty, a local cyclist.

Michigan Central Station in Detroit after its restoration

Why this exists

For the first time, you can ride a bike from Canada to the United States here, toll-free, on a path of its own. That opened up a day trip that was simply not possible before.

The information you need for that day was scattered: bridge rules on one site, border rules on two more, and the good stops on a dozen others. This site puts it in one place, with routes Ty has ridden and a planner that turns your picks into a map you can print.

It is also a small argument for Detroit. A lot of people still picture the city at its lowest point. Ride it and you will see a different place.

What is next

Guided summer rides, maybe including Detroit techno week in May, if enough people want them. Follow along on Instagram or Discord to hear first.
